The Great Coppiceside Bake Off

Staff and the people we support at our supported living scheme in Swadlincote recently participated in the services first official fundraising event, ‘The Great Coppiceside Bake Off”. Raising an incredible £255, the event was a huge success.

With summer quickly approaching, the people we support were keen to raise money to kit the services garden out, ready to enjoy the sun. Money raised from the event will go towards garden equipment and decor to make the garden a welcoming space for the people we support to enjoy. Amanda Leary, our Registered Locality Manager in Derbyshire says “since moving into their new homes, the people we support have learnt how to bake”. So, when residents decided they wanted to raise money for the service, what better way than to put their new baking skills to the test!

The people we support got their aprons on and with the support from staff, baked and decorated their very own ‘garden theme’ cakes. In true Bake Off style Julia, Head of Operations and Paul, Business Development Manager were tasked with judging the participants entries, and were lucky enough to try all the delicious cakes.

First place goes to…everyone! With so many tasty, creative cakes to choose from, it was impossible to choose just one winner.

Well done to everyone involved in making the event a huge success!
