Get involved and make a positive difference to people’s lives

Get Involved

Real Life Options is a registered charity that supports people with learning disabilities and autism in England and Scotland to live their lives as they choose and reach their full potential.

Our Real Life volunteers help make a positive difference to the people we support by investing time, donations or organising projects and activities which help bring people together and enrich lives.

If you’d like to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you. Find out more below or get in touch by emailing getinvolved@reallifeoptions.org

If you’re interested in working for Real Life Options, check out our Work With Us page to learn more and keep an eye on our Vacancies for upcoming opportunities. Alternatively, if you would like to make a financial contribution towards the work we do, simply visit our Donate page and follow the link to our online portal.

Volunteer

At Real Life Options we champion the everyday choices of the people we support. Our Real Life volunteers are vital in supporting this aim, helping to provide greater control to the people we support through community, activity or driver volunteering.

Our volunteers help provide responsive, person-centred support for people with learning and physical disabilities, autism, complex needs and behaviours that challenge. Through their help we are able to offer people pathways to independence and healthy lifestyles, within their own communities.

Could you offer some time to make a real difference to people’s lives? Do you have good communication skills (verbal and non-verbal) and a friendly personality?

As a Real Life volunteer, you’ll receive a first class induction, on-going training and expenses paid whilst gaining new skills, meeting amazing people and feeling great satisfaction from making a positive difference to people’s lives.

All applicants will be subject to PVG/DBS checks.  To find out more, email reallifevolunteers@reallifeoptions.org

“I enjoy my volunteering experience as it gives me a sense of enjoyment working with the people we support and other Real Life Options staff.  It’s great to see people enjoy their time at the Centre and leave happy at the end of the day.” Connor – An-Carina, West Lothian.

Projects

At Real Life Options, we aim to deliver initiatives based on improving wellbeing, supporting independence and building greater community connections. As part of this process, the people we support are heavily involved in coming up with amazing ideas for projects or activities which they feel would benefit themselves and others within their local community.

Current initiatives across England and Scotland include several garden and allotment refurbishments, providing quiet and sensory areas for people to socialise as well as themed events and celebration parties which are also enthusiastically underway.

Do you have an idea for a local project or initiative? Would you like to support us in delivering an initiative? Email: getinvolved@reallifeoptions.org.
