At Real Life Options, empowering people with learning disabilities and autism to lead fulfilling lives has been our mission since 1992. Over three decades, we’ve grown into a national provider of social support and care, and we know that to achieve our mission, investing in our workforce’s development is vital.

We were thrilled to unveil Real Learning, our new bespoke learning management platform developed in collaboration with Cortexa earlier this year. This innovative system marks a significant milestone in how we train, engage, and support our employees.

Why Real Learning?

Our previous system fell short of expectations, with inflexible dashboards, inaccurate reporting, and limited control over content. Recognising the need for a more dynamic and user-friendly platform, we sought an alternative solution that would meet the needs of our diverse workforce. Cortexa’s Totara LMS emerged as the perfect fit.

The Journey to Real Learning

The journey began in 2023, when we connected with Cortexa. Their collaborative approach and tailored demonstration impressed us. Over the next six months, we worked closely with their team to create a platform tailored to our needs.

Real Learning puts us in control, enabling us to manage learning in-house and design engaging learning experiences. Beyond compliance training, the platform fosters communication and collaboration through community workspaces and resource-sharing hubs.

A New Era of Learning

Real Learning is more than just an LMS. It’s a space where employees want to explore, learn, and grow.

The Impact So Far

Since its launch in July 2024, Real Learning has seen incredible adoption:

  • 1,900 registered users
  • 95% of employees actively using the platform
  • 13,300 courses completed in just five months

Positive feedback highlights the platform’s intuitive design and engaging content. We’ve achieved our goal of creating a place where learning feels like a choice, not a chore.
