Real Life Options has published its Corporate Safeguarding Report 2026, reflecting our ongoing commitment to supporting people to feel safe, respected, and able to live fulfilling lives, free from harm.
The report highlights the progress we have made over the past year, with a continued focus on listening, learning, and working alongside the people we support. It shows how strong leadership, shared learning, and a person-centred approach continue to guide and shape everything we do.
Throughout 2025-26, Real Life Options has strengthened its safeguarding framework through a series of strategic improvements designed to enhance safety, wellbeing and quality of support across the organisation.
Key achievements highlighted in the report include the continued rollout of a restraint reduction strategy, helping teams identify and remove unnecessary restrictions while promoting individual rights, choice and independence. Significant progress has also been made in digital safeguarding, with investment in modern IT systems, advancements towards Cyber Essentials accreditation, and enhanced use of data to support learning and continuous improvement.
The report also details developments in clinical governance, including the introduction of new health screening tools and risk monitoring systems to support proactive healthcare management and improved outcomes for the people supported by the organisation.
A strong focus on listening to and empowering people remains central to the organisation’s safeguarding approach. Through the expansion of the MyVoice initiative, individuals have been given more opportunities to share their experiences, influence decision-making and help shape the future of services.
Further achievements include improvements to medication safety processes, completion of a comprehensive policy review programme, the launch of a refreshed volunteer strategy, and the establishment of a dedicated Health and Wellbeing Working Group to support employees and strengthen organisational culture.
