Ready, Set, BAKE!

Well done to all those who braved the chocolatey challenge of our annual Macmillan Charity Day Bake Off! This Friday the Real Life Options team at Head Office have stuffed ourselves full of sweet butter cream, delicious sponge and yummy cheesecake, raising an outstanding total of £100 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The fun fundraising day was part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event ran by Macmillan to raise money for those living with cancer. Our Head Office team actually ran our cake and coffee event a week early, hoping to inspire the people we support to join in and give it a go themselves in their services across the UK.

A special congratulations to Laura Backhouse, who came first with her spectacular Chocolate Orange Cake extravaganza and runner up, Tori Dunford, who won both second and third place! The competition was tough for both bakers and tasters, resulting in sugar highs and lows – and many full bellies, but it was all for a great cause.

The bake off competition was followed by a special game of cake bingo, which quickly became tense as all competitors sought to leave with the golden trophies! Congratulations to winner, Nick Dow, who won the bingo and happily left with more sugary treats.
