Aberdeen Kiltwalk to Raise Funds for our Inverurie Service
Friday 7 June, 2024Staff and people we support in Scotland recently braved the Aberdeen Kiltwalk, walking an impressive 22 miles collectively and raising £3140.
7 people we support, along with Real Life Options staff faced up to the 4 mile ‘Wee Wander’, starting at Crathes Castle and finishing at Bellfield Park. Remaining staff members prepared for the ‘Mighty Stride’ which saw them walk 18 miles from Duthie Park to Bellfield Park.
In the run up to the event, people we support along with staff worked hard to share the news of the walk with friends and family, encouraging people to donate. The money raised will go towards the development of a sensory room for people we support to enjoy at our Inverurie Hub. The room will be fully wheelchair accessible and will be a great addition to the service, giving people we support a relaxing space to immerse in to a new world!
Speaking about the Kiltwalk Darren Moore, Service Locality Manager says, “Two people we support who joined in on the Kiltwalk are brand new to the service. It’s been a great way for them to meet their peers and get involved with the service. The day went really well and I’m proud to see staff and people we support working together for such a good cause.”
A huge well done to everyone at our Inverurie hub!
