Falkirk Outreach Achieve Outstanding Care Inspectorate Feedback

Falkirk Outreach Achieve Outstanding Care Inspectorate Feedback

Falkirk Outreach Achieve Outstanding Care Inspectorate Feedback

Thursday 19 January, 2023

A huge well done to our Falkirk Outreach team on their incredible Care Inspectorate feedback and level 6 grade following their recent inspection on 21st November.

The level 6 grade was achieved through an in depth inspection and looked at how the service supported people throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and what measures were put in place to continue to provide person-centred support. Staff, the people we support and their families, plus health care professionals involved with the service spoke to the Care Inspectorate to have their say.

Tracey Monaghan, Service Manager for Falkirk Outreach said she was proud that she could tell the Care Inspectorate “a story about people’s lives and how brave staff were to go out at the beginning of the pandemic, despite not knowing much about COVID-19”. As well as strictly following COVID-19 guidelines to keep the people we support safe, staff were determined to continue to provide a person centred approach and delivered essential shopping to the people we support and their families. Once restrictions began to lift and it was safe to do so, staff were excited to take the people we support out and hosted activities to continue to support their independence. Tracey says that staff even “delivered presents to the people we support on Christmas day, spending time with them to ensure Christmas was one to remember” after a difficult year.

A key takeout from the feedback said the people we support are ‘well connected with family and friends, and involved in their community’. Staff at the Falkirk Outreach put the people we support at the heart of everything they do with a positive approach which focuses on some of our key values of giving people a real voice and more control over their lives. From attending local social clubs with the people we support, to taking part in extra social activities such as dinner dates and discos, staff at Falkirk Outreach regularly volunteered their own time to give the people we support a real choice, and get them involved in the local community. Staff listened to what was important to the people we support and made sure they didn’t miss out, with one person saying the support they receive is “10 out of 10”.

Although the Falkirk Outreach are a small team with only 7 support workers, the team are dedicated to putting the people we support at the heart of everything they do which is reflected in their amazing Care Inspectorate feedback and level 6 grade.
