Finding the Plot in Leeds

Soneni Pearson could scarcely believe it when she received confirmation that her application to rent an allotment was approved. Soneni, a Service Manager for Real Life Options, is responsible for three supported living services in the Leeds area, with one situated right next door to a group of allotments. “Alan, Michael, Kelvin and Raymond who live at the property have only seen the plot from the other side of their garden wall,” explains Soneni, “and are over the moon that they now have their own piece of land. They are really excited about spending time there and getting more involved in their local community.” 

Whilst Kelvin and Alan are looking forward to being hands on with the planting and gardening, Michael will really enjoy the sensory aspects of the plants and flowers. The allotment needs lots of TLC but Soneni has great plans as the year progresses. Her team are developing their Active Support skills and the plot provides an excellent opportunity to support the housemates to fully explore and enjoy all the experiences that the allotment offers.
