Going the extra mile
Tuesday 11 July, 2017We were proud to cheering on Team Real Life Options (RLO) at the Asda Foundation Leeds 10k this last Sunday. Whilst the spectators were enjoying the glorious sunshine, a team of committed runners braved the heat to take part in the run.
Runners enjoyed fantastic support from large crowds around the course that helped to generate a fun and friendly atmosphere and Team RLO even had a dedicated group of supporters to cheer them past the finish line.
With staff representatives from a number of Head Office departments including HR, Business Development and Communications and IT the running team were proud to be raising awareness of the important work that Real Life Options does supporting people with learning disabilities and autism across the UK.
Nicola Strong, HR Business Partner, was the first across the finish line, clocking an impressive time of 1 hour 8 minutes. Hot on her heels and finishing together with a time of xxxxx were Paul Ampuero, IT Support Engineer; Anthea Sully, Head of Business Development and Communications and Graham xxxx.
Launched over 10 years ago the run is one of the highlights on the UK’s running calendar. The impressive route takes runners through the heart of one of the UK’s biggest cities before ending on the spectacular Town Hall finish.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in Team RLO and to all of those who turned up to cheer them on.
