Despite facing significant physical and emotional hurdles, Matt has achieved things that many people would have thought impossible. From winning races across Europe to completing the London Marathon on a frame runner, his courage and resilience have been extraordinary. His participation in the BBC’s Children in Need Rickshaw Challenge at a young age further demonstrated his unyielding commitment to making a positive impact.

In 2023, Matt moved into one of our supported living services, where he found the independence he had always dreamed of. In his specially adapted home, Matt continues to live life to the fullest. Since joining Real Life Options, Matt has inspired countless others by sharing his remarkable journey at our conferences, speaking through his voice machine with humour, honesty, and a sense of determination that captivated everyone who attended.
