NEW EASY READ REPORT ON HUMAN RIGHTS NOW AVAILABLE
Wednesday 1 March, 2017A report from the Joint Committee on Human Rights has shown that people with learning difficulties are less likely to understand their fundamental human rights, making them more susceptible to incidents of neglect and abuse. Whilst the report found that in recent years the treatment received by people with learning disabilities had improved overall, there are still many cases where people are denied their fundamental human rights.
As a result the Joint Committee on Human Rights have released an Easy Read version of their report, ‘A Life like any other?’, to help empower adults with learning disabilities and help them to understand their human rights. This should help bring about further change and support people with learning difficulties in receiving the treatment they deserve.
