Outstanding Care Earns Drumlanrig Square Exceptional Inspection Results
Monday 10 February, 2025Hawick, Scotland – Real Life Options is delighted to announce that its Drumlanrig Square service has achieved exceptional ratings in its latest Care Inspectorate review, recognising the outstanding quality of care and support it provides.
The inspection awarded the service the highest possible grade of Excellent (6) for the care and support of people’s health and wellbeing, and a Very Good (5) rating for the quality of its staff team. These achievements reflect the dedication and professionalism of the team at Drumlanrig Square in delivering person-centred care that empowers individuals to live fulfilling, independent lives.
Lynn Jack, Service Manager at Drumlanrig Square, expressed her pride in the team:

The inspection report highlighted the service’s focus on ensuring people are actively involved in decisions about their care and support. Service users participate in creating their own care plans and risk assessments, and even contribute to staff recruitment, fostering a truly inclusive and person-centred approach.
Feedback gathered by the Care Inspectorate from service users, families, and professionals emphasised the positive impact of the care provided. One family member shared:
“I cannot speak highly enough of the care provided. My loved one is listened to and encouraged to be more independent and pursue things for themselves.”
A visiting professional also commended the service’s approach, stating:
“The service has provided quality support to a newly supported person due to the trusting relationship the person had developed within the service.”
The inspection noted that Drumlanrig Square delivers a safe, professional, and highly regarded service. With robust recruitment and induction processes in place, staff are well-equipped to provide high-quality, individualised support.
