Spooky Spectacular

Haunting Halloween recently fell upon the nation and Real Life Options services across the UK were busy embracing the scariest time of the year.

A spooky collection of creepy costumes, ghoulish decorations and scary pumpkins were in full swing at countless Halloween themed parties. People we support were excited to join in and donned witches hats and ghostly attire galore in true Halloween spirit.

The Hartburn service in Darlington was even featured in the local newspaper due to their impressive eerie display. Justin Flewelling, a Support Worker who has decorated the centre for eight years said, “I try to make the display bigger and better each year. It makes the residents really recognise that it is Halloween.”

Elsewhere at the Bisley Drive Short Break service in South Shields there were some exceptional pumpkin carving skills on display at a Halloween craft session. Guests Gary Brown (below right) and Adam Greenwell (below left, supported by Support Worker Liesa Burns) carved out some incredible pumpkin designs which looked spookily spectacular!

Meanwhile everyone was enjoying an entertaining Halloween party at the Clay Cross service in Chesterfield. Jesika Berta (below) and Jenny Robson wowed everybody with their fantastic outfits and Support Worker Mari Taylor who recently joined Real Life Options, said: “It was a really nice atmosphere. It was clear everyone had made a lot of effort and they’d gone all out on Halloween decorations and even baked cupcakes too! All the residents were really excited and their families enjoyed it as well.”

Much freakish fun was had by all and it proved a great opportunity to dress up and have a wonderful party. Check out the fabulous photos from just some of the spook-fests happening across the organisation.
